Role Overview:

Waypost, a rapidly growing firm, seeks a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to drive growth by developing lasting relationships and securing new consulting engagements. This role will be a key contributor to enabling and accelerating the firm’s expansion. The ideal candidate excels at consultative sales, thrives on understanding complex client challenges, and can articulate value-driven solutions in the supply chain and operational efficiency domains. This role will also be responsible for guiding prospects through the entire sales process from prospecting to close. This role is not an account manager and will be expected to generate their own leads and prospects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively identify, research, and engage prospective clients through outbound prospecting strategies, including cold outreach, networking, referrals, and targeted campaigns.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers in manufacturing and distribution sectors, identifying opportunities for consulting engagements.
  • Lead insightful, consultative sales discussions to understand client pain points and articulate clear, strategic solutions.
  • Navigate prospects through all stages of the sales cycle, from initial prospecting to closing agreements.
  • Collaborate with our expert consulting team to craft tailored proposals and solutions.
  • Represent Waypost with professionalism and confidence at industry events and client meetings.
  • Consistently meet and exceed sales targets by effectively managing a robust pipeline of prospective clients.
  • Achieve assigned KPIs related to lead generation, sales activity, and revenue.
  • Provide input on improving our sales process through the lens of continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in B2B outside sales, particularly within consulting, supply chain, manufacturing, or distribution sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and drive strategic decision-making.
Ideal Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets in consulting or professional services environments.
  • Experience using CRM platforms effectively to manage client interactions and pipeline activities.

Compensation:
  • Base plus commission
  • Competitive, performance-based compensation structure with unlimited earning potential (uncapped commission).
  • First year target compensation: $125,000 – $150,000
  • High performance potential compensation: $200,000+
